Meta Ad Library auto scroll: load every ad in a search

The Ad Library loads ads a few at a time as you scroll. For a competitor with hundreds of ads, that is a long evening with the mouse wheel. AdVantage Scope scrolls the page itself and turns every loaded ad into a card you can filter.

Why you rarely see the whole result

The ads you never scroll to are the ones you never compare.

The page loads in small pieces

New ads appear only when you reach the bottom. A large result means scrolling, waiting and scrolling again.

You stop before the end

Scrolling by hand gets tiring long before the list ends, so research is often based on the first screens only.

You cannot tell when it is finished

When the page stops loading, it is not clear whether you reached the end or the page is just slow.

Same result, two ways to load it

The ads are the same; only the scrolling changes hands.

With the Ad Library alone

  1. Scroll to the bottom and wait for new ads
  2. Repeat until the page stops growing
  3. Guess whether that was the end
  4. Start again after a reload

Long results are rarely read to the end.

With AdVantage Scope

Press Auto Scan in the side panel. The page scrolls on its own, every new ad becomes a card with its days running and stage, and the scan stops at your limit or at the end of the results, with a short sound.

Settings that shape the scan

Every setting below is in the side panel's Auto Scan section.

Limit and limit mode

Set how many cards to scan. In Total mode the limit counts every scanned card; in Filter mode it counts only the cards that pass your filter, so a Shopify-only filter keeps scanning until it has found that many Shopify ads.

Speed, gentle scan and wait

Choose Slow, Medium or Fast. Gentle Scan adds random waits between scrolls. The wait setting is how long the scan waits at the bottom for new ads before it decides the results have ended.

It knows why it stopped

The scan stops when the card limit is reached, when the results end, when your plan's scan limit is used up or when you stop it. The notification sound tells you it is done.

While the page scrolls

The cards stay usable during the scan.

Cards appear as ads load

Each loaded ad becomes a compact card with days running, stage and variation count. You can read the first cards while the scan continues.

Filters apply to new cards

Your card filters also apply to the ads that arrive during the scan, so the screen only fills with the ads you asked for.

No ad is counted twice

An ad that was already scanned is not counted again in the same window, and the ads already on the page when you open the extension are not counted at all. Pausing and resuming a scan is part of the Pro plan.

Does Auto Scan download the ads?
No. It scrolls the Meta Ad Library page in your browser so that the ads load there. To keep a list, send the ads to your own spreadsheet with the Google Sheets export.
Can I load every ad from one competitor?
Yes. Search the advertiser in the side panel, start Auto Scan and let it run until the results end or your card limit is reached.
Will Meta block my account?
The extension does not log in to Facebook; it works on the public Ad Library page. The Fast setting may cause Meta to slow the page for a while, which is why Gentle Scan and the Slow setting exist.
How many ads can I scan?
It depends on the plan: the free plan scans 2,000 ads a day in 6-hour windows and asks for no card. Plans are on the pricing page.
What can I do with the result?
Filter the cards, read the market in the Analytics tab (see Facebook ads market research) or send the ads to Google Sheets.
