Turn the Meta Ad Library into a research tool

The Meta Ad Library is public and free, but a search result is long, tiring to scroll and crowded with cards. AdVantage Scope works on top of the same page and makes the result readable.

Three things the library makes hard

The library was built as a record, not as a research tool. You find what you search for; comparing, filtering and coming back is left to you.

Search settings are scattered across the page

Country, ad type, language, platform, media and date sit in separate menus. You pick the same settings again for every new search.

Results load in pieces

You scroll down again and again to see the whole result. Keeping track of how many ads loaded and which ones you already saw is hard.

You cannot filter the loaded cards

Meta's filters narrow the search, not the cards on screen. There is no way to show only videos, only active ads or only Shopify stores.

Same page, two ways to use it

AdVantage Scope does not change Meta's page; it adds a panel and a card layer on top of it.

With the Ad Library alone

  1. Pick the country, type and keyword
  2. Scroll by hand to load the results
  3. Read each card's date and link one by one
  4. Screenshot the ones you like

The next day the same search starts the same steps again.

With AdVantage Scope

Search settings live in the side panel, in one list. Auto Scan loads the results for you; cards become compact, age and stage are written on the card, and filters apply instantly to the cards on screen.

The screenshots below were taken from the extension itself, on top of the Ad Library page.

Meta search in the side panel

Target country, search term, status, content language, platform, media type and date in one list. Search type (exact phrase or keywords) is in the Starter plan. The library keeps the search in its address, so a bookmarked link reopens it with the same settings.

Compact card grid

The card drops the extra rows; creative, age, stage, domain and button come forward. You pick the number of grid columns in the panel.

Filter the cards on screen

14 card filters: text search, ad status, saved status, button, media type, video length, creative count, days running, stage, advertiser grouping, Shopify type, EU transparency and more.

You control the scan

Auto Scan is not a single button but a process with settings. All of them: Meta Ad Library auto scroll.

Stops at the card limit

You decide how many cards to collect: in total or only cards that match your filters. When the limit is reached the scan stops and, if you like, tells you with a sound.

Speed and waiting

Pick the scroll speed and the longest wait; a random pause between scrolls can be added.

The same ad is never counted twice

Scanned ads are kept by their ID; the counter counts each ad once.

Start free, grow when you need to

Is the Meta Ad Library free?
Yes. Meta's Ad Library is public and free, and it opens without a Facebook account. AdVantage Scope is a Chrome extension that works on top of that page.
What does the extension change on Meta's page?
Only the view: it makes cards compact, adds the age and stage badge and places the search parameters and an analytics strip at the top of the page. It does not touch Meta's data.
Does a card filter send a new request to Meta?
No. Card filters apply instantly to the cards already loaded on screen. A Meta search, on the other hand, sends a new query and counts against your scan limit.
How many ads can I scan on the free plan?
The free plan scans 2,000 ads a day; the limit renews in 6-hour windows. Plans are on the pricing page.
Where does my data go?
Ad content (text, images, links) is never sent to a server. Linked to your account we keep scan counters, search history (term, country, media) and the IDs of scanned ads; they are deleted when you delete your account.

The free plan asks for no card and no Facebook login.
